ALBA wins first playoff game

The OPEL SKYLINERS lost their first playoff game on the road against ALBA Berlin with a clear 74:94. Although the three injured big guys were back on board, Gordon Herberts Team never found a way to stop Berlins Fast-Break Offense. The OPEL SKYLINERS have to work hard on their defensive skills, if they want to win the first home game against Berlin on Wednesday night, May 7th, 8 p.m. at the Ballsporthalle.

At the beginning the OPEL SKYLINERS seemed to be asleep - especially in the defense. Meanwhile ALBAs Offense proved its firepower. After four minutes Berlin already lead the game by 12:0. After Robert Garretts Free Throw Shot in the same minute the OPEL SKYLINERS came slowly but constantly back into the game. In the second quarter it was once again our go-to-guy Robert Garrett who kept his team alive with two three point shots in a row. Garrett also became Top Scorer of the game with 24 points. At Halftime Berlin was leading just by six.

The OPEL SKYLINERS now fought bravely, but the defending champions proved to be cool, dominant and unstoppable this afternoon. After a 12:0 run at the beginning of the third quarter they lead the game once again by 20 points. In the final quarter only one player of the OPEL SKYLINERS had a small reason to smile: Youngster Alex King hit a free throw and made his first play-off point for our team.
